Put down that turkey leg, that white bread, that beer…Turn off that cellphone, computer, & TV remote control - Open the door – walk thru - & close it behind you… Take council from the Wind Advisory – the hardy Zephyrs gathering the essence of Autumn - to color the air & animate the ethers - Exhale it back - with the hue of you - in great gratitude. And, if you sing an aria, the beholden Firmament will give your Spirit-Self lift - to tickle star ears – boomeranging inspiration back into your pert lobes… Hailing Earth – we thank our Mother - the Rose-Gold-Foundation - holding us since before we were a twinkle in the eye of gods desire. Let your free feet take you to the encampment of the Guardians who have known you before Time – the Beings who will be there after time - They sit before the Creative Fire that has Birthed Warmth in the Eternal. Let our shared Universal Mother soothe our collective post-colonial dis-ease. Be humble & reverent of the crawling creatures, the migratory birds, & animal folk, who sacrifice themselves for us. Ask their forgiveness & give-up Thanks & Praise. Banish worry – fear – doubt - heal hatred… The heart knows the way – though there may be high-rises, interstates, checkpoints, armed soldiers, massacres, wars, & those who will despise you, because they despise themselves - All the more reason to bring compassion to amnesty. This Thanksgiving journey may a few hours, a day, a year, a few lifetimes…In the meantime - Watch your mind - Without training, it will want to run amok – abandoning your heart - for the gory feast set by the thieves of time. Do not hold regrets – live & let live - & keep on keeping on… And when you find your way to the Center of the Circle - To the fire kept burning by the Keepers - you will be welcomed. But 1st we must clean ourselves - Cut all ties to failure or shame - Enlist sage, or salt - engage the elementals - apply pure noble intention – to Seek - Absolution. Let go of the pain - held in your mind, your shoulders, your heart, all the way to your knees & feet - & beyond the little self. Let the ache of the ancestors make way for our collective healing - Transforming & opening the way - for the hope of Now - & for those coming in from the future. Call upon the service of the Being of Love - And all the Spirit-Helpers - who take many forms: Stone, Plant, Animal, Element, Angel, Saint, & our Grateful Dead. Call on your Original-Self - which may have become depleted, or entangled - caught in the corners of the big lie - the creases of confusion, judgment, or abuse. Summon your True-Authentic-Self - in a way that your Spirit will want to return - Speak to it as you would a beloved child. Welcome your Soul-forces back from their wandering - They may return in pieces, in tatters – so take your time to gather yourSelf together - Your parts will be happy to be re-puzzled after being lost for so long. Your Soul will need to rest awhile - Then after it is bathed – give it clean clothes. Now you can have the Thanksgiving feast. Invite everyone you know who loves & supports you. Make room for those who have no place else to go. Make a potlatch giveaway – & a bonfire to burn away what does not serve - warming the shrivening confession - but keep the speeches short, for the night is long… Be the light in the darkness - which can Exile imperialism - generate Cosmopolitanism – in a One-World Benediction - & live into a Happy Thanksgiving… ~hag
