The Little League baseball World Series is being completed today so why is there two "World Series" championships being played?
There is the World Series International Championship and then there is the United States "World Series" championship.
One world.
One world champion.
At least take the words "world series" off the banner for the US national championship.
We couldn't beat the Taiwanese or Japanese back then and we can't beat them now. So we put our best team out there to try and win it all. From what I have seen, the US team will be tested by the insane pitching and hitting of the team from Taiwan and it probably won't even be close.
But I'll still watch it.
Just as my home confinement from IV antibiotics is coming to an end, the summer is making one last desperate grab with ninety-plus temperatures next week.
Just getting out of the house will be money, so nothing will stop me from being appreciative.
Now if my prosthetist can come up with something I can wear to walk again…
Next Saturday I will be glued to the TV set as my Fighting Irish will take on Texas A&M.
On the road.
With a new quarterback.
In 100+ degree weather.
In 85% humidity.
With 110,000 screaming Aggie fans.
I expect us to deliver an ass-whipping to jumpstart our candidacy for the upcoming twelve-team College Football Playoff.
I think a fourteen point road win will:
---shut up 110,000 people
---move us up to Top Five in the following weeks' national rankings.
---set the standard for the remaining eleven games on the schedule
Of course, I have been here mentally before.
And I will do so again; it's a long season.
They say everything happens for a reason; so maybe I will be able to get a round or two on the course before winter hits.
I don't like those girly long putters.
They look like the little wicker basket your mom wanted to strap to your handlebars.
I used to like Adam Scott before he switched putters. He lost his lead and the BMW championship, so it must have been the lame putter he used.
Now I don't watch or follow him.
I Just love it when I am forced to eat a big plate of crow because of one of my thoughts. You only have to look at the opening paragraphs to understand why I am not in the bookmaking business.
Florida beat Taiwan.
Like I said, we invented the sport and we are the world champions and the dominant force in global baseball.
Always have been.
Always will be.
College and pro football games interspersed with the Premier league season and the World Series. And basketball is on deck.
Heaven.
It is one of the best times of the year for sports fans.
But not for Karen.
Stay well.
