(1) In 1994, I pulled out an incomplete script of an abandoned musical called The Burden of Egypt, which I was writing in 1987 when I worked at the Melodrama, and whose title was based on the first verse of Isaiah 19. It took most of the year, but by the end I had a full draft of a new musical: The Burden of Eden. Thanks for the memories.
(2) A dystrophic toenail had been hurting me while walking (more so than running.) Someone told me I could get it surgically removed at a place called Quick Care. While they could not remove the toenail, they referred me to a podiatrist, and shaved it down to where I am no longer in pain.
(3) Also thankful for our free bus system here in town. The bus took me to and from Quick Care, free of cost, and free of pain.
(4) Cody is organizing a reading of The Burden of Eden. I've been looking at the 2008 script (the 31st draft), and cleaning it up a bit, also getting songs into the right keys (and in some cases replaced.) The idea is for the two shows to be done in rep some day, since they deal with similar but not identical themes. All very exciting.
(5) My therapist from 2022 was very good but then left the agency. Though I wallowed for a while in the Winter, I am now about to see a new therapist about whom I have not heard one bad word. Happy to get it going again, as I have found that weekly therapy helps very much.
