My Dad's coming down for a few days this next week, so I've been rushing around getting the house all cleaned and put in order. We made a few touches to the baby's room, added a guest bed, some decorations, and a shelf. We're making space for my Dad, stepmom, and siblings to stay here at our home, rather than them having to needlessly blow money on a hotel. They'll be here for a few days and then head back home to Iowa around Thursday of next week. Prayers for their safe travels would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
I've got a number of things to do outside, but it's mainly some cleaning in the front yard - like picking up sticks, sweeping the walkway, mowing, etc. It's around that time of year here in Florida where the grass isn't growing that much, so it might be the last mow of the season. I haven't had to mow the front yard in about a month. It doesn't necessarily need a new haircut, but there's some stragglers here and there, and I want everything to look nice and presentable!
I was finally able to burn all that brush in the backyard a few days ago, so now we have a circle burned into the ground. I could brick it off and make a semi-perminent fire pit - but I'd need to get bricks in order to do that.
I miss sitting and relaxing around a fire, it was something we'd do as a family quite often when I was younger; be it at home or out camping with my grandparents. With the Florida heat and humidity, you'd have to wait till the winter months to properly enjoy a fire. You wouldn't want to be sitting in your sweat, be cooked from the heat, and also eaten alive by mosquitoes. All that equals not a fun time!
Heavenly Father, I just wanna thank You and praise You for the awesome God that You are! Thank You for taking such great care of us, and for meeting all of our needs, wants, and desires! I wanna ask You for an extra dose of Your love and blessings today, and help us all to feel Your presence about us. Do a mighty work in our hearts and lives, and help us to be who You've created us to be. Help us to be obedient to whatever You ask! Holy Spirit, please attend to our prayers and crying out to You! May Your will be done and Your kingdom come O Lord! It's in the powerful and mighty name of Jesus I ask and pray, AMEN!
