Daily Service: What, and how much, are you sowing?

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NKJV but this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So, let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Back to the farm, a familiar setting for the people who are the intended recipients here. Paul takes a page from Jesus' sermon notes. Any farmer or shady grove gardener knows this principle; sow sparingly reaps sparingly. Before you get too materialistic Paul is also talking about spiritual principles of giving sparingly or generously. My life is richer when I sow prayer, praise, and Christian fellowship.
