In the Viking City of Dublin, the cerulean sky was filled with billowing giants, casting shadows that danced upon the emerald earth of St Stephen’s Green – a susurrus welcoming to our Ascension Thursday arrival - The raucous Elementals ever rumoring about themselves in ‘old-wives’ tales ;) of the Sídhe, Selkie, Banshee & Leprechauns of course, along with the ghost of Sweet Molly Malone, swirling in that dense cityscape.
When it started spitting rain, as it often did, on & off, we took refuge near ancient sycamores & the water-fall of Iveagh Gardens - Dublin’s ‘Secret Garden’ - feeling the vital essence of the Celtic Tree of Life as the center of the earth.
We got intimate with William Butler Yeats at the National Library of Ireland – unveiling his many female muses, his deep striving mysticism recorded in his illustrated occult manuscripts, along with Kabbalistic & Rosicrucian ritual tools, his poetry, politics & theatrical affairs.
During a pelting downpour we ducked into the National Gallery of Ireland, only to find that we were standing in the presence of visionary artist & poet, William Blake. His wildly unconventional iconic works of art beaming in all mediums with imagination, inspiration & intuition, revealing fantastical creatures, visions of the underworld, & the ancient past, which thrilled & unsettled our souls.
To escape the tourist Vikings we took a ride on the ‘dart’ to the seaside village of Howth to meet the selkies & walk the craggy cliffs. Past the little town we found a secluded path thru an enchanted fae-flowering canopy of ancient trees on the grand Howth Castle demesne strewn with pink & purple petals. After meeting a cheeky tree sprite, & getting pixie led for a bit, we headed towards the summit amongst the Rhododendrons in full bloom to find Aideen’s portal tomb – a chamber made of local Cambrian quartzite rock. Folklore tells of how Étaín Fholthinn (daughter of Aengus a local chieftain) married Oscar, son of the demigod poet Oisín, grandson of the famous Fionn MacCumhaill. On hearing of Oscar’s death at the Battle of Gabhra (near the Hill of Tara) in 284 AD, she died of a broken heart & Oisín caused the tomb to be built in her honor.
Aideen’s Grave was immortalized by the great Irish poet Samuel Ferguson, in 1861: The Cromlech on Howth –
When the Pleroma group arrived from Italy just after the New Moon, we traveled in 5 vans first to the Ring of Kerry. We were 40 strong - a warm-hearted assembly of all ages from 23 – 82.
The Elementals we came to honor showed us their wild side as we endeavored to sail to Skellig Michael = a splinter of stone dedicated to the Archangel of the Sun. Celtic monks founded a monastery around the 6th century on that twin peaked rock, when the Elemental-forces must have been very different.
When we walked the Kerry Cliffs the etheric forces could be strongly felt in the mélange of the tempestuous forces of water & wind permeating the vitality of the plant kingdom.
Giorgio Tarditi Spagnoli, our guide, offered esoteric leading thoughts based on his Anthroposophical research - bringing in his practical experience with the Misraim Dienst, his Biography training, & his vast scholarly insights, to shepherd us on the Modern Rosicrucian path, in what the Italians called our daily ‘conferences’ which took place at every sacred site, sometimes in the evenings, or during Socratic walks along the journey, always attending to individual questions with loving interest.
Thru the strength of Antonio Passarelli’s strategic planning, & Giogio’s wisdom, we crossed the Threshold into a liminal land where the treasures of the primal past are held & were freely given to our unified band of striving souls - where the Cosmic Celtic tradition is still preserved as a living memory of earlier Atlantean times - when we, in very different human bodies, were in direct contact with the Spiritual Worlds - Our etheric life-forces interweaving between the physical world & the Gods.
Giogio’s deeply enlightening commentary, combined with the big ever-changing sky, the rough & misty coasts, the standing stones & the many majestic hallowed places where the Elements are so potent, opened a portal in me – my senses became overlaid with the ancient sites & rites from earlier incarnations. Were we all together then too? – experiencing Holy Time out of time - when we were intermingled with the ‘gods of Ireland’ – loosely embodied as the people known as the Tuatha Dé Danann = wise artistic healers, working in communion with the gods, who migrated to the Emerald Isle after Atlantis was destroyed by the Great Flood - led by the Solar Adept, Manu, who took on the duties of Archangel for Ireland, sacrificing his advancement for the sake of preserving the paradisical purity of the land.
It was here at this sacred vortex of earth geomancy that the Northern Arthurian stream united for the 1st time with the Southern Parzival stream. (which I wrote about in preparation for this journey here)
Christ as ‘Lord of the Elements’ is palpable here – living strongly as the ‘Spirit of the Earth’ - yet never losing the heavenly solar aspect. The gentle natural transformation of the Druid Priest/Healers into Irish Saints holds the powerful impulse of this Cosmic Celtic Christianity inspired by the Archangel Michael.
The presence of the Celtic Triple Goddess Brigid permeates the island with her fire in the head & hands, bringing poetry, & smithcraft - & the healing waters of her heart-well. I had many magical moments with our harmonious fellow travelers especially at St. Brigid’s Cathedral in Kildare. (check out the video in the photos)
The Megalithic Temple Tombs, with their talking dolmens & the mystery of the shadow-reading in the cromlech stones revealing the Spiritual Sun, were powerfully present at: Eightercua Row, Uragh Circle, Brownshill, the Hils of Tara & Shane, The Stone of Destiny…
& most potently at the rú na Bóinne site in the inner initiation chambers of Newgrange & Knowth, all in alignment with the Stars – all living power spots that reawakened earlier initiation experiences where the Cain & Abel streams 1st united for me - a lesson in the evolution of levity & gravity -
The Castles like Howth & Blarney - The abbeys, like Ballinskelligs, & Holy Cross - The monasteries, churches & cathedrals - Saint Michael and All Angels, Christ the Redeemer, St. Patrick’s, Glendalough Round Tower – most built on rock outcroppings near the sea or on steep cliffs, where the Elemental forces are heightened - There we read in the architecture, sculptures, statues & sacred art – the stories & pictures of the Divine.
The Rock of Cashel set on a dramatic outcrop of limestone in the Golden Vale, with its round tower, a high cross, a Romanesque chapel, a Gothic cathedral, an abbey, the Hall of the Vicars Choral & a fifteenth-century Tower House – holds great power - Originally the seat of the kings of Munster - & according to legend, St. Patrick himself came there to convert King Aenghus.
I could inwardly perceive these many sacred sites as alchemical workshops, where initiatory rites tested human souls to greatness; & contemplatives could dedicate themselves to the art of the illustrated Word, as seen in the ‘Book of Kells’ - to inscribe a fresh branch on the Celtic Tree of Life for the New Christic Mysteries – an evolution of the Cross – a grounding of the Trinity.
As our ‘Viaggio’ progressed, synchronies of thought became clues, became connections, unpacking occult teachings gained thru Anthroposophy, creating a thru-line into how we can work as modern ‘Tuatha Dé Dananna’ with the ‘Good Gods’ now & into the future, where we are called to restore, in full freedom, a conscious connection with the Elemental forces of Nature, to allow us to receive & perceive not only Christ as the ‘Lord of the Elements’, but also the ‘Etheric Christ’, who is the ‘Spirt of the Earth’, & with the Angelic helpers of humankind who champion our Divine evolution. Giogio revealed to us his personal research (which I will leave for him to share) into the inter-workings of great Manu Masters, Archangels & Archai who are continually advancing - Beings such as Lugh, & Scythianus, Zachariel, etc…
Wisdom & Strength tempered with Devotion as demonstrated by Giorgio & Antonio along with the eurythmy at those sacred sites, led by Rejane, & the amazing translations by Eliana Crestani, gave birth to Beauty in each one of us on this transformative initiatory Journey to which I am eternally grateful.
