Winter Singing Grams 2024 AHS Blueprint — January 12, 2025 By Gwyneth Lee, Staff Writer Photos by Gwyneth Lee A group of students decked out in holiday clothing stride into a classroom leaving many of Winter Singing Grams 2024 AHS Blueprint — January 12, 2025 By Gwyneth Lee, Staff Writer Photos by Gwyneth Lee    A group of students decked out in holiday clothing stride into a classroom leaving many of their peers in anticipation, wondering who is going to receive a winter gram.    With the holiday season and final exams nearing, Acalanes Acapella singers performed songs to various classrooms across campus.     "The winter singing grams are pretty much an event we do with the Acappella group, which are Octet and Harmonics, where we go around during school to different classrooms and sing songs to specific people for money," sophomore Malcolm Rajguru said.    Prior to singing the grams, Acapella members visited the student quads and asked students to buy grams for their friends. Students had the option to send a gram during either fifth or sixth period. Students could also choose to include a note or to keep their role as the sender anonymous.    The Acapella program uses the money raised to fund its budget and expand opportunities, hoping to be able to attend more events with their funding.    "We're going to have more and more concerts to go to every year because the budget's just going to increase, " Rajguru said.    Members of Acapella practiced every Friday during lunch, learning new songs and taking advantage of the opportunity to get to know each other.    Along with benefiting the singers, some also view the winter singing grams as a way to bring the community together. Some students sent winter grams with jokes as their notes.    "It's the way you can cause people joy and embarrassment all at once. It's really funny. And also, especially the notes people add are super funny as well," Rajguru said.
