(1) 1993 rocked. I was able to supplement my night gig (and six piano students) with a latchkey job at an elementary school. I bought a used Toyota on payments, and every morning after a single cup of coffee, I revved up my Toyota, drove it to Lake Merced, and ran 4½ miles around the lake. Thanks for the memories.
(2) Cody and I drove to Leavenworth WA yesterday and saw a charming production of The Sound of Music at an amazing venue. Check it out.
(3) Getting back into town at around 3:30am, I declined to go to church this morning and face a room of possibly 100 people without benefit of a prior cup of coffee. Got up shortly before service time (9:30) and tanked up on an Americano at the café. Nice to start the day on my own terms.
(4) Heard from my 38 year old daughter a couple days ago. She got a new Chromebook for free through some program. Happy to hear her in good spirits.
(5) I remember not wanting to walk up the hill to the Food Bank on Friday and stand in the long, often unpleasant line. Deciding to do it anyway, I was blessed with there being no one else in line at the time of my arrival. Sometimes when you do the thing you don't want to do–but should do–God gives an immediate nod of approval. I gave the social workers a free Summer in the City CD, in return.
