Today is the last day of the Index-Card-a-Day challenge and also of World Watercolor Month, and I was feeling sad that I didn't do many watercolors this year. I looked through the WWM prompts and decided I most wanted to do the one for Day 8, which was feather. I found a YouTube video on how to paint a feather in watercolors, but I was disappointed that I couldn't make mine look like the one in the video, so I wasn't going to post it.
Then a while later I looked at it and thought, well, it's not totally horrible, so here it is:
I missed quite a few days this year. I was afraid that I didn't do as well this year as last. But I checked back, and last year I did 14 cards. This year I finished 30. Score! (I won't tell you how many I made in previous years. This year is my second worst.)
On ARHtistic License, my mermaid picture got the most likes:
On Tangle All Around (on Facebook), Wisp got the most likes. (I only posted zentangle designs there.)
On Instagram, Zinnias got the most likes:
Hmmm. I seem to have lost that one. It didn't get into my group picture. That means I made 31 pictures not 30.
But the two that I like the most are these, Zander (on the left--I think I really executed that one well) and Aeroark (on the right--it's so whimsical, it makes me smile):
Although I'm disappointed that I didn't finish 61 little artworks, I'm pleased that I beat last year's output. Without the challenge, I probably would only have made a couple of doodles these past two months. That's why I take these challenges--they encourage me to sit down and create.
