Deception abounds Kirby goes to San Francisco to marry a socialite to find the same scheme that has duped him and 5 others. Sophie is turned out of her Aunt's dress shop when a minor cousin inherits. What follows is a downward spiral that ends in a tenement shared with 2 sisters and a job scrubbing a greasy kitchen. She finds Kirby lost and being beaten in an alley and rescues him and it's all uphill from there. It is a good story, they both rescued each other.
