My brother, Richard, is the only person in my life who knew me all the way back to my beginning.
He lives in another state. Even though we communicate regularly, it had been a number of years since we were able to visit in person.
Jay and I were so incredibly blessed that Richard and my sister in law, Carole, came to visit over the weekend.
We shared memories of times, places and people from times gone by.
We shared ways The Lord has worked and is working in our life. We got to speak again of our certain knowledge that our relationship will continue eternally.
I surprised Richard with pictures of our childhood, some he had never seen before. It was fun to see how we had changed from children into our now very mature selves.
Chef Jay cooked such delicious meals, it prompted their comment he should open a restaurant called Jay's Kitchen!
We enjoyed a visit with our daughter, son in law and grandson. There my brother and I got to do something I thought would never happen again.
Richard and I had many meals around our parents' kitchen table many years ago. The table and chairs now reside at our daughter and son in law's house.
Richard and I got to sit together at that table with a picture of our parents.
Part of my parents' daily spiritual practice was to hold hands around that table and pray The Lord's Prayer.
Today with the picture of our parents in the middle of the table, Richard, Carole, Jay, Jennifer, Marlon, Gideon and I gathered around the table, held hands and prayed The Lord's Prayer together.
It was a powerful moment that joined Heaven and Earth and Past, Present and Future together. It was a joint promise as a family to remember our precious legacy and trust it to continue now and forever.
I am so thankful for our many, many blessings. I believe Mother and Daddy are smiling from Heaven and are saying, "Amen!"
