To our high school and college students/young working adults: The following books will, I'm almost sure, not be read in your public school classes. They will not be recommended by your public school teachers. They will not be on the reading list of your public school.
But this summer pick up one or two and read them anyway. They won't help you get a better grade in one of your classes, but they might just help you have a better life. Advance warning: these books are not quick reads; they are brain food. More importantly they are heart food. They will inspire you, give you wisdom, and give you strength for your journey ahead. And if you really want to make this a stellar experience, don't read alone. Read with God. Talk it over with Him. (I use a notebook.)

To our parents, grandparents, teachers and other caring adults: Though we are at times overwhelmed and disheartened by the events of the world and our own lives, we must not retreat. We must still press on and continue to encourage and train the next generation. We cannot wait for easier times.
What kids and young adults read now, matters! I know you believe this and you are pointing your loved ones to books and materials that will feed their souls and their faith in God, not their fears. Keep on doing it. Keep on. God is smiling.
