It's that day again, one last day to another year,
and it doesn't even get to have it's day
because we name it by the year it proceeds
this eve of another and not what it really is
as we fight the long defeat - the end of ends
that never ends because it's always the eve
of another fight, another year, another days
and this we celebrate as if we start over again
all the while ignoring we've lost everything
and take little with us in the ever decreasing
inheritance of memories exchanged for living
until all we're left with is memories and
that will just have to do.
