Dear Ella
Only a week or so and you'll be off to Thailand. What an exciting way to start the New Year.
I might make it to Krakow in Poland in 2023. At the very least I will be going to Dorset to dig up some more family roots.
New Year resolutions are a bit challenging at our age. Something about surviving, not having to call out the ambulance service or rely on public transport seems to cover it. Mind you, for 2023, I could add one about turning our new Station 366 CD into a Number 1 album.
I'm a bit hampered by the fact that our production licence limits us to 150 CDs which we can only sell directly to the public during performances as opposed to distributing through music stores.
If I did 'sell' all 150 CDs where would that put me in the chart ratings? Not very high up apparently: the average top 40 album sells over 4,000, and those at number one have typically made sales of around 60,000. It seems the odds are stacked against us achieving global recognition!! And I bet Taylor Swift didn't have to put each of her CDs in a cellophane wrapper before she sold them.
Still, it's nice to have something for the bookcase. It shows there's still something above a faint pulse left in me.
Love to all
Fiona
