I took it to heart when Pat blessed me may years ago. It was something to hang on the wall. It was the first one that I had received, so it stuck in my memory. I looked at it many times sitting in the living room, thinking about it. I remember some of the words but do not remember the book, chapter, or verse number.
Well, yesterday morning during my quiet time with God, I asked Him for a verse to read. He blessed me with one and when I read it the memory of the thing on the wall came flooding back. What was the verse from back then? The same one He gave me the other morning. "For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)
That verse spoke a lot to me. I believed it then and I believe it now. God had plans for me, and He has given me hope and a future. He has done more for me than I could have ever imagined. "Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:12-13)
He also has plans for you. Seek Him and you will find Him. Read His word, the Bible and you will come to know Him. Open your heart to Him and that once empty place that nothing could fill, will be filled with Him.
