Hope all is well with you, that the wildfires haven't impacted on your part of the world and you have kept cool in your sea home.
There is so much girl power this side of the Channel, it's hard to know where to begin.
I suppose credit to the Lionesses. England wining the European cup has caused much excitement here, not to mention disbelief we can field a national football team that actually scores goals.
Aunt Dora began the tournament shaking her head, pursing her lips and declaring football was not a sport for young ladies, but she finished last night roaring out Sweet Caroline with the rest of them and if her dodgy hip hadn't been playing up, I'm sure she would have been somersaulting across the sofa.
We've had our own bit of girl power this week. Station 366 has been out and about. Our first concert was in a graveyard in Bungay. Everyone was very well behaved, no heckling and the vast majority of the audience (especially the ones with the gray, stone seats) stayed until the end!! The acoustics were sublime, sound bouncing off the flint walls. Amazing atmosphere.
Then we went to perform at the Old Red Feather Club – an American airbase turned museum made up of linked Nissen huts – the ones with the curved roofs. We were in the 1940s bar area. Again, the acoustics were wonderful and sound just danced off the walls. No need for reverb!!
I've attached a second photo. It looks like our sound technician – Jon - has lost his head, although if you could see through the speaker, you might think he was asleep.
