My female little puppy was recently spade. That first night with her, I spent on the couch, but only got a couple hours of sleep. I was physically weary the next morning. I felt like I had a hard time functioning until I picked up GOD'S word......
ISAIAH 50: 4 "HE AWAKENS ME MORNING BY MORNING. HE AWAKENS MY EAR TO HEAR AS THE LEARNED."
I read the above words and realized that HE had stirred me that morning and was saying to me that HE would get me through the day ahead, even though I was so physically weary. And after my time with the LORD, I did find the energy to make it through the day and take care of my puppy's needs.
WHEN WE BECOME WEARY IN ANY WAY WE NEED TO GO TO GOD'S WORD.
God may have a special message for us there......a treasure we need to hear. What we learn there and put into practice is even more important if we are weary, because sometimes we are at the end of ourselves ready to give up. And believe me, I have been there many times.
With the LORD'S help, when I push through my weariness, my faith in HIM and my spiritual maturity develops further........because this is a race and it's a marathon, not a sprint and the prize at the end of our lives is JESUS!
GALATIANS 6: 9 "AND LET US NOT GROW WEARY OF DOING GOOD, FOR IN DUE SEASON WE WILL REAP, IF WE DO NOT GIVE UP."
So let the WORD speak life into you when you are weary, then go speak life into your neighbor or co-worker who might be weary. Seems most of creation is truly weary right now! Fill your soul daily......fill up so you have plenty of joy and love to give others. Because GOD'S word is immeasurable and HIS well of mercy is deep. GO drink again and again......then speak those soul loving words to all you meet.
I tried an experiment this morning.......I had to run some errands and had already spent my time with the LORD, so I decided I would say "Good Morning" to everyone I passed by, making sure I didn't miss anyone. I would say response to my hello was 50/50. Some said hello back and smiled and some looked the other way. But it confirmed to me that yes.......humans are weary right now. And another confirmation for me personally was that my joy is in the LORD! The more I said hello the more joyous I felt for some reason.
ISAIAH 58: 14 "THEN THE LORD WILL BE YOUR DELIGHT."
HIS mercies and love and compassion for us are a promise we can stand securely upon.......like standing on bedrock! HIS promises never fail us. Let's remember that when we are weary. HIS truth for our lives is like no other truth found in this weary world. GOD is our only HOPE. And HE will prove it to you, when you give HIM your heart and come to him when you are weary. Why? Because HE will never turn away a weary and broken soul......
PSALM 51: 17 "A BROKEN AND CONTRITE HEART O GOD, YOU WILL NOT DESPISE."
Turn to the LORD now, and come again and again, to be filled with HIS life-giving promises and then go because HE strengthens the weary! Go to the one who is weary and speak a word in season to someone who needs it.
