What does an angel, a trumpet, Zion and Joel have in common? I couldn't fall asleep last night, so I got up and came into the living room. I barely started to praise God when I had a vision. I saw an angel out in front of me, up in the air. The angel was moving fast. It came from my upper right and went down toward my lower left. In its hands was a long horn and it was blowing the horn.
As it was moving down toward the left, I started to hear a song. The words were, "Blow the trumpet in Zion, Zion, sound the alarm." I kept hearing it over and over. God then gave me a verse Joel 2:1. I had ABSOLUTELY NO idea what Joel talks about, much less what Joel 2:1 said. When I read it, I was blown away. (No pun intended.)
Joel 2:1 "Blow the trumpet in Zion [warning of impending judgment], sound an alarm on My holy mountain [Zion]! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble and shudder in fear, for the [judgment] day of the Lord is coming, it is close at hand."
God is the only one who knows when the day will come. It may be tomorrow or 100 years from now, only God knows. The thing is, Matthew 24:42 tells us, "Be alert [give strict attention, be cautious and active in faith], for you do not know which day [whether near or far] your Lord is coming" and Ezekiel 33:3-6 tells us to warn others.
"If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand."
I found the song that I was hearing. "Blow the Trumpet In Zion." This one is by Paul Wilbur.
