To define Repent / is a meaning Repent was to be Mean.
Defending The Questions of Earth By God's Plan.
Christianity is not a religion. It is a personal relationship with God. Of God's Earth.
You don't become a Christian by signing a paper or, as is done in Islam, declaring in front of witnesses that you believe in God.
You can not be forced to become a Christian. You can not be talked into becoming a Christian.
Christianity is believing, in your heart, that Jesus Christ is God and He died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins. When we do this we repent our sins.
So what does repent mean?
We are all sinners. None of us is perfect. To repent means that we wish to change. We are sorry for the sins we have committed in the past and we desire to not sin any more. It means we have changed because we are unhappy with how we behaved in the past.
Justice requires that if we sin (meaning to do something wrong), a penalty must be paid. Jesus paid that penalty for us when He died on the cross. But, that does not mean that we should go out and steal, pillage, murder and vandalize--knowing that no matter what we do someone else (Jesus) has paid the penalty for us. Romans 1:8 says:
"You might well say that the more we sin the better it is! Those who say such things deserve to be condemned!" (NLT)
To believe in Jesus Christ as your LORD and savior means that you desire to obey Him--that's what we mean when we call Him LORD. Obeying Him means that we are changing our behavior to become more like Christ. That is repentance, and it goes hand-in-hand with beliving in Jesus as your LORD and savior.
