Hello all of you interested and interesting followers. How are you today? I thought I would write a little about my newest and oldest hobby, which is jogging.
I started jogging aged 11, when I joined my secondary school, Bonner Hill School for Girls in Kingston-upon-Thames. We used to jog a route around Richmond Park with my class. This park, some of you may know, has several gates; one at Kingston. I loved this exercise and have memories of coming second at it, although my old friend Julie, who is also a few months younger than me, doesn't remember, even though I am sure she came first. Anyway, it doesn't matter because the important thing is that I want you to consider taking jogging up again, or even to try it if you never have.
Jogging short distances regularly is a good aerobic exercise. Aerobic, of course, means "with air", and walking is another "with air" exercise. So if you don't see yourself bouncing up and down, maybe increase your walking pace instead. Research shows that there are many benefits to all "with air" exercises.
I decided to start jogging after tennis, which I managed to achieve at our free court all year round in 2019, before it was locked down. Who knows this new habit may happen weekly as long as the courts stay open, since it gets dark here in December and I am finding it difficult to find somewhere well lit to exercise.
At least, come January, it will be a little lighter, and new goals will be more easily achieved.
