As I re-acclimatize, after a rousing gathering with kindred spirits for the 100 year celebration of Biodynamics – the cosmic signature speaks: The Autumning meets Draco in Star Showers, peaking TONIGHT on this Centennial Year, during the ‘Days of Awe’ – & yet - Pulling the Afternoon Sun into a Blinding Shaft – The Drawn Sword of Michael - Piercing Thru - On the Oblique Angle of the Solar sluice - Casting out long Shadows - Stretching deep & wide – past the Horizon - Met - In spurring Admonition - Thru Strident Free Discernment - Revealing the Revelation - In the Spirit-Light of Come Unity – And so it was that there was a herding of 150+ souls together with Jeff Poppen – who is indeed the ‘Barefoot Farmer’ with the dedicated crew on the hallowed Long Hungry Creek Farm in East Tennessee - For the Jubilee celebration - To commune & share – hearts stirring – a sacred vortex - to funnel in the future – Cultivating the Culture of Agriculture – Every generation interweaving – In expectant gratefulness - Enthusing spirit striving - in fiery will - to broadcast new seeds – that root & mingle – progressing into a canopy - dispersing a mood of purposeful upbuilding – a living network - Vitalizing the subtle ethers – a Grail Road - connecting farm to farm & friend to friend - to reform & counteract the sub-realm web that would enslave. My beloved CG & I left the Great Inland Sea of Chicago & made our way to Louisville KY - home of Fox Hollow Farm managed by Maggie Keith & Biodynamically stewarded by Janey Newton, who also puts Anthroposophy into practice as a biography worker, & as a co-founder of the Waldorf School of Louisville. We met up with her & our Eclipse Convergence friend Jeffrey Levy, & their study group at the school, to live into an imagination of the story of Parzival laid out by Jeffrey, as well as working with a lecture from Symphony of the Creative Word – one of my all time favs. On our way to Red Boiling Springs Tennessee, we stopped at Mammoth Cave with wonder & awe, to give our respects to the hardworking Earth Elementals that influence the ‘Genius Loci’ - the protective spirit of that place. We checked in to the haunted Armour Hotel & spa, a few minutes from the farm – a former brothel & gangster getaway. Their ‘Black Water’ Mineral Bath winkled my nose & had my skin tingling – very healing. I’m not going to go into details of the ‘Conference’, sorry, you had to be there, but What struck me most, was how Socratic the dialogue was – Thru practical demonstrations & workshops - standing in the prairie, or walking with the grazers, or down by the creek – in the barn & the woodshed - the old timers tossed around their research & experience, co-mingled by insights popcorned by all of us, in a spacious, conscious conversation, full of respect & humor. The family style meals – a farm to table delight - were plentiful & excellent. The best conversations are often exchanged in the chow line, during meals or the ample downtime where the social sphere is organically cultured. The Saturday night ‘Talent show’ lived up to its infamous party-farm reputation, I had heard about for years - Jeff’s band keeping everyone dancing well past midnight. The re-enactment of the Agricultural Course given by Rudolf Steiner thru the reading of the lectures given to the 'Koberwitzers' 100 years ago, was thrilling – It was clear: Steiner is speaking to us today! During the 10 days from 7 - 16 June in 1924 – at the Festival time of Pentecost – in the tiny village of Koberwitz, Silesia (now part of Poland) Steiner also gave Lectures on the theme of Speech & Drama, & continued his Karmic Relationship series. Coree Entwistle enthusiastically read for us: Karmic Relationships VII, GA 239, Lecture IV – Where Steiner gives a picture of individualities who were significantly imprinted by the Saturn Sphere in their life between death & rebirth, giving the example of a Hibernian Initiate who later incarnated as Victor Hugo – This fascinating series is thrilling to engage with. On the last morning of the Ag. Course in 1924, there also a meeting with the ‘Youth Group of the Free Anthroposophical Society’. And so 100 years later, while a gaggle of young people stuffed cow intestines & goat skulls, Jeff read from Youth's Search in Nature, GA 217a - 17 June 1924, in Koberwitz Rudolf Steiner's report described that meeting: "A number of younger members of our Society also participated in the agricultural course. At the end of the conference, they still felt the need to gather together as a group. This took place during the early morning hours of June 17. In this gathering the younger friends spoke out of the depths of their hearts about their longing to approach—in their creative life and in their work—the insights out of the spiritual realm that unite the human being with the active forces of nature. It was an exchange out of the innermost soul of youth, wishing to move beyond fruitless materialism that does not unite with nature but rather separates the human being from her and condemns their work to fruitlessness. In this gathering I was allowed to point to paths on which this longing needs to move in order to arrive at a goal." I had thrill bumps when I heard this spoken out in the solar barn by the barefoot farmer, so I thought to end this little write-up homage of the Jubilee BD Celebration with a few passages from that stirring lecture speaking strongly today to all who are young at heart: “…With the youth of today it does not amount to much when anthroposophy is transformed more and more into abstractions, when it is transformed into ideas, concepts, or even what we know as modern science. Now the young people who come, want to experience, to live everything in deeds, in the true understanding of nature. One cannot remain with that, however. I would like to emphasize this especially strongly. It has been said that the sword of Michael has been forged, but this is connected with something else. It has to do with the fact that in the occult part of the world there remains what must be prepared of this sword of Michael, which is really to be carried, in the forging, to an altar that is not outwardly visible, that must lie beneath the earth, that really must lie beneath the earth. To get to know the powers of nature beneath the earth leads to the understanding that the sword of Michael, as it is being forged, must be carried to an altar that lies beneath the earth. There it must be found by receptive souls. It depends on your help, on your contribution, for this sword of Michael to be found by more and more souls. And it is not enough for it to be forged; something is really achieved only when it is found. You must have the strong but at the same time the modest self-conviction as young people that you are karmically called upon to carry the sword of Michael out into the world, to search for it and find it. Then you will have received what you are searching for in gatherings such as the one today. Then you will also be able to recognize what I had to say to you about anthroposophy, about all the difficulties of those people who were dangling between their doctoral examinations and retirement certificates. And you will recognize it in a truly instinctive-pictorial way, so that the spirit of abstraction, that frightful Ahrimanic spirit, is not able to touch you too. Think in mighty pictures of the fact that two words have connected themselves with the striving of youth—words that in the nineteenth century were no longer understood. If one hears Wandervogel (Wandering-bird) one wonders, does a well-traveled person today actually know what in ancient times this wandering was, what the wanderer was? We must return to a pictorial experience of the soul. Does the human being today still know what a person had to go through when meeting the birds, what Siegfried had to go through in order to understand the language of the birds? Wandervogel: Wotan, Siegfried—this is something that must be felt again, must be understood. One must first find the way from the abstract conception of Wandervogel, to Wotan, who weaves in wind and clouds and waves of the earth-organism, to the hidden language of the birds, with which one must become acquainted by reviving in oneself the Siegfried-recollection and the Siegfried-sword, which was only the prophetic precursor of the sword of Michael. The way must be found from the wanderer to Wotan, how with opened hearts one can believe again in the hidden language of the birds. You can feel this path from the Wandervogel to Wotan, to Siegfried, and if you can feel this deeply in your souls you will also find the possibility of experiencing nature and knowing about these things. And then if you are still able to dream a little, you will be able to live with the heavenly dreams in nature. This is something that we should not reflect on a great deal at first but that we can sense and permeate with feeling. If you do this, you will form a community in accordance with your heart—a community in which step by step you will find what you are seeking. Let us keep this alive in our consciousness! Let it fill our souls!” ~Rudolf Steiner ~My soul is forged in Star-Fire - That I may speak the language of Earth - a sacrifice on the altar of angels... ~hag 8 October 2024 - “Speaking with the Stars” Happy B-day BD! xox ‘Mary Magdelene – The Sanctifier’ – with Hazel Archer-GinsbergMonday 14 October 20247 pm – 9 pm Central Time (US & Canada)Sponsored by The Minneapolis Theosophical SocietyThe zoom link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84368789880?pwd=bUI5b3FZcHNoc3NLaXpUbktHejRGUT09 Why does Mary Magdalene resonate with so many of us these days? Some 2000 years after the Turning Point of Time, her insights, her mission, her mystery, is needed now, more than ever. In our work together we will be drawing from her living wellspring, unveiling ancient manuscripts, lost for centuries - like her banned Gospel, often called, ‘The Gospel of the Beloved Companion’. We will employ artistic inspirations thru the collages Hazel has created, using images rendered by great initiate painters who have sought to capture & convey the essence of the Magdala. We will use our focused intention, to decode & embody the wisdom of ‘Our Beloved Companion’– so that the spirit of Mary Magdalene, Priestess of Isis, Myrrhophores, 'Apostle to the apostles', can take us on an initiatory journey. 17 October 2024 - a Sukkot / All Souls / Full Hunters Harvest Moon "When you sit in the Sukkah, 'the shade of faithfulness,' All Souls Festival w/ Mysteria Mystica Americana (MA) Friday 1 November 2024 - New Moon In-person & online - ALL Details TBA The folks at Dornach are NOT providing an English translation for the performance of Rudolf Steiner’s Four Mystery Dramas at the Goetheanum 26-31 December 2024contact Sarah Cappelletti +41 61 706 42 50, buehne@goetheanum.ch www.goetheanum-buehne.ch If you want to support the Spiritualization of the Earth thru the Biodynamic Farming done on Zinniker Farm, you are invited to become a paid subscriber, with all donations going directly to the farm Greetings Friend, you currently a free subscriber to Cognitive Ritual.
