Pleasance Courtyard - Beyond: Tickets
Upon entrance, a booming voiceover warns the audience that the following performance might be dangerously sexy. Suddenly, clad in a fringed pink sparkling bodycon suit and silver cowboy boots, the gorgeous Ginger Johnson scooters onstage to a booming round of applause. With her larger-than-life hair and bejewelled microphone, she immediately breaks into song about her recent success as the winner of Ru Paul's Drag Race last year. However, she gazes at a new task: becoming a daredevil. The next hour comprises whacky stunts, each in pursuit of this bold desire.
Thrown headfirst into Ginger's chaos, the audience is then faced with flying drawing pins, Coca-Cola with Mentos, a tiny trampoline, flaming farts, and a giant steel canon. Her audience immersion is hilarious, climbing unashamedly through the crowd to seek a brave assistant. She also easily handles technical difficulties, keeping the audience laughing with her relentless energy and joy.
Ginger's fantastic singing voice steals the show with a closing ballad about her own ridiculousness, having lost one false eyelash and her wig during the dynamic stunts. A tender and impassioned speech ends the performance, with the glamorous Drag Queen sharing her great appreciation and love for the supportive public.

An undergraduate French student at the University of Edinburgh, Eve has a diverse interest in theatre and performance. Eve's theatrical focus has recently broadened into writing and directing, for instance with her modern Othello adaptation for the University's Shakespeare Company. Her creative attention stretches also to classical music, as she plays the flute, piano and guitar with equal fervour. She thus looks forward to watching whatever the Fringe has to offer, irrespective of genre!
