I am spelling it this way as the other ways vary their spelling so much so I am sticking to Lammas. 29 years ago, the Lammas ceremony brought great changes into my life. They were unexpected. My partner collapsed as the ceremony ended and died a few hours later in hospital. It is not something I write about but I felt now was the time for this. His death brought a lot of changes into my life, some good and some not so good. Sometimes it seems as if it was yesterday but it was a long time ago. Looking at change, Gandhi stated 'Be the change you wish to see in the world.' Sometimes changes happen when we least expect them as happened above. But often we need to make the changes ourselves in order to make our lives better. This is not easy. For years I have thought about losing a bit of weight but I can try for a while and then give up as I am not much overweight. I try to eat better and exercise more but often my aches and pains get in the way. So I do what I can. I have found ways of changing how I live. I try to buy organic food when I can or at least food that is not processed in one way or another. I buy organic or eco products for personal and home use. Where possible I buy fair trade clothes. But how can I change the views of others who think big cars, expensive phones and war are all good? Have you any ideas about this? I'm working on it at the moment and using my power to sign petitions that are for good things. I consider them carefully before I sign and make sure that what is in the petition is correct and true. Not easy in our current world of disinformation. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
