Hi Ella
What a heatwave the last few days have brought. In truth, it was a bit overwhelming. I've been so used to mild and damp conditions that anything over 23 degrees Celsius threatens heat stroke.
Even Aunt Dora has reduced her personal trainer sessions from 5 to 3 times a week. You'll remember she hired a fitness guru in response to the Conservative party's proposals for National Service. She wanted to make sure she was in peak condition when called up.
We managed to unpick that little confusion, but Aunt Dora had already fallen in love with Sanchez (her personal trainer) and was unwilling to dispense with his services.
Mind you, she still hasn't got to grips with the triple lock pension. She thinks it is a wrestling position and has been pestering Sanchez to demonstrate. Sanchez often looks quite dazed at the end of their sessions so I expect he will resign soon.
Dora's boyfriend, Alfred, is very jealous and I have witnessed various micro aggressions such as 3 lumps of sugar in the tea or encouraging the cat to sit on Sanchez' jacket, knowing he is allergic to pet fur.
Meanwhile, rehearsals for Friendly Invasion continue at pace, but I am finding the technology challenging.
Last week I created a series of ear-splitting screeches because I brought speakers and microphones too close together. This week the PA batteries died in the middle of a promotion in Diss, and you couldn't hear a thing. I really hope I've got to grips with these sound systems by the time the theatre curtain rises.
I also find the loading and lugging of equipment quite a strain but I believe a certain fit and handsome personal trainer will soon be available for hire. So that problem is pretty much solved!!
Lots of love
Fiona
