Daily writing prompt
What personal belongings do you hold most dear?
I have an old aluminum tin that was once used for black licorice. Inside it, I have a few notes my grandmother wrote to excuse me from class. I also had some of those little cards with the name and definition of a person's name. I had hers in there. I think it's still in that box.
I also have her, my granddad's and mom's ID cards.
I have a notebook that my mother had, a few pictures from a trip she went on, a short interview I did of her for class when I was in middle school.
The contents of the notebook are painful. In it, my mom wrote all the things that she wanted to tell me, but was never able to. She wrote me letters... apologizing for hurting me and telling me how much she loved me.
I have another notebook of hers that had info of people she knew written inside and a few other thoughts she had.
The first time I read it, I burst into tears. The second time, it was full blown sobs. The third time, I curled into a ball.
And now? I get teary eyed thinking about it.
I miss her so much.
