As she made her way to her destination, where she had come to many times before, something made her stopped. She looked around, seeing no one else, she continued to do what she came to do. It was something she did every day but usually there were others there. She would get up, get ready and by midday she would make her way to where she needed to go. It was the same day after day, nothing ever changed, but then……….
As she came upon her destination, she saw someone was there, sitting on the ground. He just sat there; he did not move. She looked around but no one else was around. "Who is he? I have never seen him before." she thought as she walked toward him. He then said something to her. She was perplexed about what he said. She replied back to him as he sat there looking at her. Then he asked her something, and she knew she had to answer truthfully.
She had no idea how her life would be transformed from the encounter that day. How the man she came upon, not by chance, but by a meeting that was arranged long before would change her. Things would be said that would touch the deepest part of her heart. Her life changed from that encounter and it would never be the same. She told everyone she could; testified about what the man had said to her. Her testimony moved others to search for the man. Many found their way to him that day and like the woman, their life was never the same. Each one had a different life story, a different testimony and their testimony helped others find their way to the one who changed their life. Who was she? She was the woman at the well.
"The woman left her water jar and went into the city and began telling the people, Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done! Can this be the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed)? So, the people left the city and were coming to Him." (John 4:28-30).
