I should shut out my light and go to sleep.
But his roses are making my whole room smell beautiful, and memories of his smile are still making my heart happy.
You see, I have a new best friend.
His over six feet tall, with a bewitching smile, and most importantly a heart of solid gold.
I could rave on about my Brendon—but I'll spare you.
Instead I'll take you to the quiet evening out on the river. To a canoe paddled by two. To happy randomness. Laughter. Splashing paddles. And lessons on trust.
Sitting in the semi-darkness learning the heart of the man I admire and trust more and more… it's peaceful.
Sharing a passion for God, and a desire to live out his plan… well, it's just beautiful.
There have been a lot of happy moments in the past four days.
Walking on a beautiful trail.
Sharing a songbook.
Talking in the car.
So many little random moments that leave my heart bursting with the goodness of God.
Tonight, as these memories flood my mind, and my eyelids droop with weariness, I feel so grateful, so blessed, and so excited to watch God write this next chapter of my life song.
