Gratitude List 1971

A.P.

May 1

(1) Between last night and the previous night I received not one, but two nights of 7 1/2 hours sleep in a row. This is because I ditched that one med that was hyping me up too much and causing (among other things) insomnia. I'm so glad I made that decision, because I feel like my normal self now.

(2) Though I pretty much finished my new piano album "Climb Every Mountain" yesterday, I was still in the an obsessed state of mind. The obsession told me I couldn't possibly go back to my "real work" today--not until this project was out of the way. To the contrary, after two good nights in a row, I feel much more capable. I can easily fit in my major music production project, and wrap up the CD venture as well. Sleep is so important, and again, I am glad to be getting it.

(3) Although for various reasons related to social frustration, I hardly ever go to my longtime Presbyterian church anymore, I'm grateful for the support of my departing pastor Norman and my friend Kathy. She is so supportive of my projects, she even designed the outstanding CD covers. Also grateful for the Men's Bible Project that meets on Wednesdays.

(4) Did a full load of laundry at the neighborhood laundromat last night. There's something great about doing laundry, especially at a 24-hour laundromat with hi-speed Internet. Not to mention, I usually run into a couple friends and neighbors there. It's not just a laundromat--it's a hub.

(5) Grateful for the neighborhood café, where soon I will be sitting in continuance of my lengthy wake-up progress. They say people with ADHD "wake up in stages." In lieu of ADHD medication, I suppose good coffee will just have to do. 🙂

"If this is coffee, please bring me some tea; but if this is tea, please bring me some coffee."
