You fall onto the third rail
Of your doubt
You live from the inside out
You believe what you see
The train of thoughts
Moving down the track
Of your eyes
The dream you wake from
In a blood-sweat of surprise
You keep yourself on trial
Judge, jury and executioner
But
You are still the little one
With the crooked smile
You are still the wild child
Running
And jumping in a leaf-pile
You are the bird
About to leave the nest
To jump into your new wings
In one great test of courage
The lights are coming up
From the dark side of the sky
You climb to a new place where the wind cries
The worst is over
The worst was never–always happening
In your mind's eye
The great human lie
Where you dwell
Offers a crazy hell of images
You could believe this sad story
A story of loss and grief
But now finally there is relief
A breath you have to take
Into the nothingness you forsake
When you wake
