Today we conclude our exploration of Judas' final days on earth. This has been a story based on the little we know about Judas and how satan works to tempt.
The story began five posts ago.
What happened to Judas next? Did he go straight to Hell?
Many have put forth their theories over the years. Many have given scriptural references to support their beliefs.
I believe there is a time of judgement when each of us completes our time on earth. However, I believe it will be an intimate time with God and we cannot know from earth's view what the outcome will be.
I believe Jesus' Gift of Mercy and Grace applies to all who have sinned. That includes those who have committed violence against themselves or others.
Even though Judas did not stick around to hear the magnificent Way Jesus announced The Kingdom had indeed come on earth, I like to believe perhaps he was permitted to see it.
While we have branded Judas for life as a traitor, Jesus still saw him as a friend. Perhaps after whatever time of judgement for his missteps on earth, he got to hear for himself what Jesus said to the world.
"Father, forgive them. They did not and do not know what they are doing."
If God can give such a Great Gift of Love wrapped in Mercy and Grace, how can we do otherwise?
While we do not know what happens with anyone on the other side of what we believe is the "dead line" for entrance to Heaven or hell, we can hope there will always be Mercy and Grace at the throne of God.
Let us then approach God's Throne of Grace with confidence, so that we may receive Mercy and find Grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from The Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
