In this universe's Genesis, Adam and Eve didn't sin and then become cast out; they just got restless and left on their own.
The quiet spooks the primitive human mind, ease and comfort fill us with more fear than the wickedness of the waking world.
If something is wonderful, it can go wrong, and end.
Horror is endless and counted on.

I found a place that offered me everything I wanted, love and friendship and acceptance.
Yet, I never sat with my back to the door, and I marked them as enemies before a cruel word had been said.
For war is coming, and I knew I was not their kind.
But if it wasn't war drums, I would have found another reason to leave.
