They've been staring at me ever since. Last week I finally took the sanded one over to the easel and thought, if not now, when? What started as a response to the creek by my studio morphed into a collage of lush plant studies from the creek's bank. I rolled and drew my way across, layering more each day. Scary and exhilarating. I think this approach will inform the next paintings, and perhaps more botanical studies from the creek (mostly invasives) and gardens in the area. What fun! The only problem is that now all my smaller panels look miniscule. Details below. Enjoy.
