Today's scripture: Micah 4:1
"In days to come
the mountain of the Lord's temple
shall be established as the highest of the mountains
and shall be raised up above the hills."
This waiting, this preparing, is a very slow process. When we think of the creation of mountains do we consider the millenium those mountains took to become what they are today? The very snail-like process as they have grown to the skies? Some mountains now sink back into the earth or the sea from whence they came. Years and years and years of geology; building and tearing down.
But here the prophet speaks - not of actual mountains but of the One coming to build up and sit on high; about all of us.
Advent reminds us that Christ is coming. Advent teaches us about patience, about waiting, and about being prepared.
During our rushing about it's my prayer that we take time to rest in our preparations; to rest in the coming Lord.
Light our candles, prepare our homes and our hearts, but above all, prepare for Christ. Pastor Barb
