You're wondering what I am talking about aren't you? "It's time to get rid of the crayons and go to the permanent marker." God blessed me with those words for others late the other night when I was trying to go to sleep. I kept hearing it, they were not stopping until I finally reached out, picked up my pen and notebook and wrote the words down. It was a word to speak out to others.
The meaning - You have been using the crayons long enough when it comes to your walk with God, it's time to start using the permanent marker. It's time to let go and let God have full access. You have been coloring out of the lines long enough, doing things your way. It's time to settle down and get on the path that leads to Him.
It's like this, when you use the crayons, you may let it stray outside of the lines now and then, that's like your life. Instead of listening and doing His will, you have at times taken things into your hands and tried to do things your way. When you put the crayons down and pick up the permanent marker, you are more aware, more careful about what you are doing. It was okay to use the crayons when you first came to Him but it's now time to step up and step into the calling God has for you. Which one are you going to continue to use, the crayon or permanent marker?
I want Him in every area of my life, my breathing, my sleeping, my walking, my talking, my thinking, you name it I want Him to be in it! Don't you? I want and He is and will always be a permanent part of my life.
"For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin. 16 Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God's gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment]." (Hebrews 4:15-16).
