| richwrapper Oct 29 | (October 30, 2023) watched the Republic of South Africa Springboks take the measure of New Zealand's All Blacks in Rugby World Cup final, 12-11 *not a date but a score) and then treated myself to England's mastery of Argentina in the Bronze Final, though here in the library I had the sound muted - didn't want the football police to notice I was watching "Grandfather" to American football. The phenomenal O-Do Slantinel sports was unaware such tournament concluded Friday and Saturday and managed to ignore the results of each of the last two games (Ruggers call the games "Fixtures." Too bad someone at The Slant hasn't fixed that yet. By The By - the state of Florida's first-ever Rugby (some say with tongue firmly in cheek: Ygbur) championship tournament was held right here in Sanford (1974?), co-organized with the able assistance of former Orlando Rugby Football Club loose head prop Glenn Richards, now retired and reposed with wonderful wife and daughter - the PhD Diva opera star and conductor on America's other coast up in Mass. Will continue pounding keys to allow the Air Force Thunderbirds' throngs of admirers a chance to fill the roadways as they exit town before I go back to visit my sausage and ground beef thingamacallit "stew" with onions, pepper and garlic (though I may add the offeratory tomatoes sans skins and seeds - which seeds I hope to plant sometime late-winterishly, along with some habanero seedlings I must get into their medium like yesterday.
