My husband recently got some hard news and thinking of our lives and thinking even on a larger scale you just realize that we are all terminal! No one gets out of here alive, do they!
We tend to have baby showers and celebrate birthdays too. Some people push aside any "thoughts of death". But thank GOD our Savior reminds us that everything here is just temporary, because we were made for a better place.......
HOSEA 13: 14 "I WILL RANSOM THEM FROM THE POWER OF THE GRAVE; I WILL REDEEM THEM FROM DEATH."
And don't we sing........O death, where is your sting?
MOST OF US ARE JUST ONE DIAGNOSIS AWAY FROM FACING OUR MORTALITY.
We should live each and every day knowing one day we will leave this earth and we will leave behind us a legacy. How do we want to be remembered? That we loved the world or that we made the world a better place by sharing the light of the gospel?
LUKE 9:24 "FOR WHOEVER DESIRES TO SAVE HIS LIFE WILL LOSE IT, BUT WHOEVER LOSES HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE WILL SAVE IT."
As we live each day here.......let's let go a little more and more. The stuff of this world is broken and truly worthless in the shadow of death. The sooner we realize this the better. What we have in JESUS is a treasure worth more than gold. It is worth more than our suffering or death. Why? Because HE already died for us, for our future, for our permanent home in Heaven. JESUS loved us enough to die for us so that HE wouldn't be separated from us for all of eternity. WOW! What a SAVIOR we have. So death, now where is your sting?
PSALM 56: 1 "FOR MY SALVATION IS ABOUT TO COME, AND MY RIGHTEOUSNESS TO BE REVEALED."
