From the moment of our birth, God has a plan for our lives. This book is intended to help youngsters understand this biblical truth. The illustrations by Beth Snider, depict a variety of birds and animals in lovely pastels -- children are sure to enjoy them. Each picture is accompanied by a short rhyme and a verse from the Bible.
I found the book disappointing. The topic is an important one. However, the poetry felt forced, and many of the concepts are beyond the comprehension of the target group (children 0-4). They certainly won't understand the Bible verses. In short, parents will like this book more than the children do. There is also some questionable theology for Lutherans -- inviting Jesus to live in your heart. I did enjoy the artwork.
VERDICT: 2 STARS
