THINK TOGETHER

READ TOGETHER
After writing Galatians, Paul wrote a letter to the church in the city of Corinth. Listen to how Paul describes our relationship with Jesus in this opening verse in that letter:
1 Corinthians 1:9. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Paul says that we are in "fellowship" with Jesus.
The word "fellowship" means partnership or teammates. Think about some examples of partners or teammates. In sports we have teammates. Or in a business two or more partners might run a store together. Or police officers might have a partner that they ride around with in the community.
When you trust in Jesus to save you he makes you his partner. He shares everything that is his with you. He works with you to make you more like him. He takes you on a journey to heaven and never leaves you alone along the way. He is always by your side. Always helping you. Always loving you. Always leading you.
And here's the best part - this fellowship with Jesus is something that we can never, ever lose. Even when you feel like Jesus has forgotten you, he hasn't. Even when you think Jesus couldn't possibly love you because you messed up or sinned, he still does. Even when you're sure that you have walked away from Jesus, you haven't because Jesus is never walking away from you.
To be a Christian is to have fellowship with Jesus. To be his teammate forever. And trust me, Jesus is going to win the game, and so will you, because he will never leave you or forsake you.
Because of Jesus we are in fellowship with God.
With Jesus we are never alone.
DO SOMETHING TOGETHER
Play a game or complete a task together that requires a partner. Help your kids to see that they are partners with Jesus in this life. Even though we might get frustrated with our partners, Jesus will never leave us and he will never give up on us.
PRAY TOGETHER
Jesus, you are my king who has made me your partner. I want to follow you. Thank you for never leaving me alone. Amen.
