It's a new month (May) and this month there will be no theme. Flowers are budding, allergies are in full force, and Spring is officially here! It's a month to observe and give thanks for the beauty of God's creation, as most of us enjoy warmer weather and more time outdoors.
It's also the season of Pentecost, often called the birthday of the church. On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended to enliven and embolden the church. For many Lutheran churches, it's a day to confirm our young people, as they reaffirm their faith before the congregation.
As usual, I'll be reviewing books and movies, sharing favorite quotes, and letting you know what I've been studying and learning. I recently attended a Lutheran Via de Cristo retreat, always an uplifting spiritual experience, so you may be hearing more about that as well.
Hopefully some of our other authors will chime in this month, and readers, you, too, are encouraged to send your comments and suggestions.
God loves you and so do the Lutheran Ladies!
