Scripture: He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11
Devotion: Time: a particular period considered as distinct from other periods. Sometimes it seems we have waited an eternity to receive the promises of God for our life. As you wait and hope for the promise, excitement diminishes and you find yourself in a state of hope deferred. Rest assured the time will come. There are probably signs of the approaching promise all around you.
I know for me the longer I wait the more I realize I wasn't ready when I thought I was. It's like slow cooking food or smoking meat in a smoker. It's time consuming but the flavor you get is well worth the wait. Be encouraged, your promise is right at the door and the flavor of the blessing is sure to satisfy.
Reflection: What have you been waiting for? Have you lost faith in the wait? Remember, God is not a man that he should lie and surely it will come to pass.
Prayer: Lord, strengthen us where we are weak and increase our faith. Help us to not let go but to stand firm on your promises knowing if you said it, it is sure to come to pass.
