As I was sitting in my living room, I heard a word, the word was "Stationed." I knew the meaning of the word, but I looked online anyway. "A place or position where a person or thing stands or is assigned to stand; a post: a sentry station."
When you are walking in the ways of the Lord and you are truly listening for His voice, direction and guidance, He will guide you. He may send you on assignments (we call them God moments) or trips (we call them God trips). He may place you somewhere (sometimes for a short time, sometimes for a long time). He may even station you somewhere forever.
In order though to receive the assignments, the station, you have to be willing to listen. You must be willing to let go of you and let Him fully engulf every part of your life. You step out of His way, letting go of your way and your thoughts. It's a very hard thing to do, to not get in His way. It's ridding yourself of you so you can be filled with Him.
God still speaks, still heals, still guides, still redeems, still restores, and directs us but it takes a little work on our part. We will go through a squeezing process, a crushing, to get to where He wants us to be and where He needs us to be to serve Him where He is wanting to station us. Some don't like the crushing and some walk away. Some want the calling but don't want the crushing that goes along with it. Many want the anointing, they want the new oil, they want the things that He does after the crushing but the crushing itself, that's a different thing.
I believe you can't have one without the other. Those moments when you wonder is it worth it, is it worth going through it all. Those are what helps you on the next station, on the next assignment. It's where He wants you to be in order to help, bless, reach out, pray for, or whatever it is He is wanting you to do.
So, when you receive a new assignment or sent to a new station, think of it as a blessing. God believes in you so much that He has not only called you, but He also trust you so much that He is assigning, stationing you where He wants you to be. As for the crushing, know that you are receiving a mighty call from God and the oil that comes from the crushing, well, it's an added bonus from God.
"After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you." (1 Peter 5:10).
