When you give Him your heart and let go and let God guide your steps, the joy you will feel will be undeniable. It's a life changing experience when you come to Him. Everything about you will change, all in a great way. All because you will be spending time in His presence.
Psalm 16:11 says "You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
Jesus tell us In Matthew 22:37. "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
I do and I pray you do also. I pray you have given Him every part of your life. I know what I am about to say may be a hard thing for some to grasp but we must love the Lord more than anything or anyone else in our lives. When we put Him above all else, yes, that means our loved ones, He then knows He fully has our heart. That's what He is after more than anything else.
You see, we were blessed by God with a comforter. John 14:16 & 26 tells us, "I will pray to the Father and He will give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever-the Spirit of truth. But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and remind you of everything I have said to you."
We were sent a comforter, that comforter is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is there to guide us and teach us things through God's word and in other ways in our life. The Holy Spirit will shape us, mold us and help us. This means to die to oneself. What does that mean? It means to let go of our way of thinking. Letting go of our way of doing things. Letting go of our fleshly (humanly) ways and give all of us to Him. When we give Him all, when we tell Him, Lord everything I have is yours. When it's not merely words being spoken but it comes from your heart, like your thoughts, your steps, everything. The Holy Spirit will move in awesome ways.
Once you start to experience His presence there is no doubt in my mind that you will start finding songs to praise Him. Psalm 100:2 tells us to "Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing." I am so grateful that when I sing about our Lord and about being in His presence that by the time it reaches His ears the angels have fined tuned it a LOT! Even though I don't have a voice for singing I have a heart that fully and completely loves Him. I know that He knows that when I sing, it's coming from my heart.
There are things I could tell you that I have experience being in the Lord's presence. Like when He took me to a big open space. We then walked over to a small hill and sat down looking over a beautiful grassy field and the only words He said were "Speak my Child" and I did. I talked to Him like I would a best friend because He is. Someone who it seems I have known all my life. You see His word tells me that He has known me since before I was born. Jesus is someone who no matter what I say, will listen. That's not saying He will not correct me when I need to be corrected but He truly listens.
There also were times that I have experienced where I was in His presence and not a word was spoken, not where you could physically hear it, but I knew and felt Him speaking words into my heart.
I could tell you of other times I have experience being in His presence but to me there really are no words, no drawings, no pictures, nothing can come close to explaining to you how it feels, until you experience it yourself. It's very humbling when you come before Him. No matter who you are or what you have done. If you are homeless, have 100 diplomas, using drugs, are an alcoholic or the many other things. When you experience His presence, it's life changing. Why would anyone not want that?
If I could write a million words, it still would not express what it's like to experience being in His presence. You need to experience it yourself to truly understand it and I pray each of you do. May God bless each one of you and may He bless every step you take for Him.
