[New post] There are people standing on a train track. Which one are you?
Russell & Styers posted: " There are three people standing on train tracks looking into a tunnel. One was a pessimist, one was an optimist and one was a realist. As they stood there they talk about what they were seeing. The pessimist saw nothing but darkness inside the tunnel."
There are three people standing on train tracks looking into a tunnel. One was a pessimist, one was an optimist and one was a realist. As they stood there they talk about what they were seeing.
The pessimist saw nothing but darkness inside the tunnel. Even though there was more to see.
The optimist saw past the darkness and saw a light at the end of the tunnel but like the pessimist was being blinded to everything that was there.
Then you have the realist. They looked past the darkness and saw the light but they also saw the train that was coming. They tried to warn the others that there was a train coming but the other two would not listen.
I am a realist and I know there is darkness out there. (Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places."
I know that light can shine in the darkness and overtake it. (John 1:5 "The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it]."
I also saw the train coming. I, like many, are giving the warning. (Ezekiel 33:4 "The watchman sees the sword coming on the land, and he blows the trumpet and warns the people.")
