I'm not going to do an episode by episode review but rather do chunks of a season. There's too much of it to do every one. I'm up to episode 6 and I want to get a few more in because, early on, it doesn't feel like its worked out a direction yet.
Initial impressions: great sets, nice cast, generic plots and the humour isn't quite hitting its stride yet (although there are some great deadpan lines from Claudia Black).
One odd thing is that the show technically precedes Firefly but looks more modern. The aspect ratio makes it look old but otherwise, the effort put into sets and prosthetics is impressive. I wonder if this helped the show survive longer? The up-front investment in Farscape (sets, creature design) must have been substantial.
More next week.
