Take one abbey turned brewery and add a centuries-old curse and you know you've got the makings of some pretty interesting MIDSOMER MURDERS. Yes, a new series of eccentric killings in England's most dangerous county is upon us and the deadly fun kicked off Saturday night with "The Ghost Of Causton Abbey." Of course, DCI Barnaby and DS Winter were on the case. And just in time to meet the new addition to their crew!

Starting off, Annette Badland made her first appearance as the imposing and dry humored new pathologist Dr. Fleur Perkins. Badland has guested on shows like Kingdom, Doctor Who and Father Brown but if you go back far enough you may recall her as Cook from A Little Princess on WonderWorks or Charlotte in Bergerac (that other John Nettles series).

Michael Byrne played Keith Grundy. Again, you'll need to go way back but Byrne was George Abell in Lord Mountbatten: The Last Viceroy, Peter Guilliam in Smiley's People and Fritz in Edward The King.

Angela Griffin, who portrayed Jenny Moss, may be best known as DS Lizzie Maddox in Inspector Lewis.

Tony Gardner was Russell Grundy. You may have seen him as John in Last Tango In Halifax or Trevor Harris in The Escape Artist.

Jason Merrells played Paul Taylor. He was also seen as James Dowland in Lark Rise To Candleford.

Chu Omabala portrayed Kwame Asante. He played Prince of Morocco in The Merchant Of Venice and Brother Ibrahim in White Teeth.

The new series of MIDSOMER MURDERS continues Saturday at 8 on PBS NC.

Got a face you can't place from one of the plethora of programs PBS NC airs from the UK? Email me at sparkymac@pbsnc.org and I'll try to help out.
