We were at Macy's last night buy pots and pans for my granddaughter's Christmas present. Rick was lamenting going to San Francisco's Macy's and how much more festive it was then ours. The shelves this year are sparsely filled. Maybe they would be the same in San Francisco, but we would be in San Francisco and he could enjoy and Irish coffee at The Buena Vista.

But we are here in Palm Desert. It was 90 degrees yesterday afternoon. Irish coffee is not so appealing. Our Macy's has a lame Holiday Lane on the first floor. Most of the shelves were empty. A very sad display indeed. All alone on the shelf with some black Santa's was this bear that sings. My mother would have loved him. So I brought him home.
