In this fourth installment of the yada yada prayer group series, the prayer sisters learn to trust God even when their prayers are not completely answered. For example: (SPOILER ALERT)
*Jodi retains her teaching job amidst budget cuts, but is stressed by an increased student load caused by school closings
*Chandra wins the lottery, but faces a diagnosis of breast cancer
*Florida retrieves her daughter from foster care, but her teenage son winds up in juvie
*Two of the churches prayer group members attend merge, only to find that merger has created new issues within the two congregations
*Ruth's miraculous pregnancy is also high risk due to her age
*Avis's new marriage is complicated by her daughter's abusive husband
You see the point -- sometimes it seems that the solution to one life problem simply leads to a new challenge. Through it all the prayer sisters learn to persevere, pray, lean on each other and surrender their anxieties to God even when His will isn't clear.
There are discussion questions at the end if you would like to read this with a book club.
VERDICT: 4 STARS. Like the others in this series, this is light, enjoyable Christian reading. Take it on vacation with you!
