"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
I love this movie!!! It is such fun and has a happily ever after ending!!!
My birthday was a few weeks ago…during the great blackout that Houston suffered due to hurricane Beryl and some really bad planning at Centerpoint! But never fear, we had a fabulous late birthday, highlighted by an outdoor pool movie!
I highly recommend watching movies while floating in the pool!
I ordered a screen and a projector before the hurricane hit, so I was more than ready to have the most fabulous party ever! My son is an electrical genius, and he had the whole thing set up in no time. I had been looking forward to this birthday party for months! To think that a little hurricane almost wrecked it is unimaginable!
Nothing Bundt Cakes makes the cutest flamingo cake and Bundtinis with adorable flamingo and flip flops toppers!
Before we watched our movie we snacked on Nothing Bundt Cake's fabulous Party in Paradise lemon bundt cake and matching bundtinis. We drank sparkling cider in the cutest champagne coupes. They are hand blown with adorable colored beads surrounding the sides. I got the coupes from World Market, and as much as I love them, they are very thin! On top of the sparkling cider we added a touch of cotton candy made especially for drinks! The cotton candy came from Amazon, xo, Fetti x Art of Sucre Cotton Candy Glitter Drink Bombs. Gilda, from Ty, was one of my gifts! I always have a tropical birthday party!
I chose 13 going on 30 for my birthday movie because it is such a feel good movie and I really miss beautiful movies like this one. The clothes were adorable, Jenna's closet was to die for, and the pink house she and Matty end up in is like a dream come true! I have seen this movie several times, not recently, but it used to be in our regular rotation, This time I really tried to pay attention to the details, the simpler parts of life that seem to be missing today. I love the Lisa Frank giant pencil and folders. Do you remember those? It made going back to school so much more fun! I absolutely love her closet that has soooo much space and is so well organized. It is definitely something that's on my to do list! The chopsticks in her hair were so stylish! I had a friend whose dad was in the military and he brought her home some beautiful chopsticks after one of his missions, I wanted to put chopsticks in my hair too!!! Dancing to Michael Jackson's Thirller brought back so many memories! My girls love to dance to this, it's a classic!!!
To snack on poolside, I had Jiffy's Mallow-Magic popcorn sprinkled with Lisa Frank-esque sprinkles from Amazon complete with rainbows, lipsticks, and all kind of cute shapes. Also from Amazon I served Poppi soda with an adorable heart shaped straw and Razzles of course! The napkins are from the Suburban SoirĂ©e. She has a shop on Etsy that has the cutest napkins!!! It was the perfect light snack…maybe a little too sweet, but really how often is it your birthday!
I'm so sad that I didn't take a picture of the goodie bags! They were canvas bags in the favorite color of each guest and I had them monogrammed in a coordinating color. Each bag contained a hot pink striped beach towel, a Lilly Pulitzer makeup bag, and a hot pink Stanley! So much fun!!!
Even though my birthday party didn't end up happening on a Monday, this movie is too great not to be included in my Marvelous Movie Monday collection! Have a great day and watch all of the great movies, especially the ones that make you feel good!!!
