People We Meet on Vacation is an entertaining if forgettable romance, but it did not have the sophistication of Book Lovers. People We Meet on Vacation is the story of Poppy and Alex, friends since college who have holidayed together for a week every summer for twelve years. The pair are complete opposites; Poppy is a free spirit while Alex is repressed, but they get each other. It is a mystery to me why they waited twelve years to discover they were in love with each other - and don't whinge that I've just spoiled the ending for you if you plan to read this book in future, as it is obvious from the beginning that this odd couple will end up together. The author could have explored their hang-ups and shoulder chips a little more, and the story could also have been shorter, but in all, People We Meet on Vacation is a serviceable romance and an enjoyable Sunday afternoon/holiday read. | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
