This crow is a little bland.
Just when I throw in the towel for democracy in general and the Democratic party in particular, one hundred million dollars is raised in 48 hours for the presumptive presidential nominee Kamala Harris.
This money is coming from five, ten, and twenty dollar donations from citizens across this great nation.
So what does that tell you?
It tells me that there are a whole lot of people out there who are ready for a change. A change from BOTH Joe Biden AND Donald Trump.
A leader can become a great leader if they know their limitations and surround themselves with the best people.
We can only hope.
We weren't ready for a woman president when Hillary ran, because, well, she was really just one of the good old boys in a Brooks Brothers power suit.
So why NOT now?
I say we give it a shot.
I mean, considering the two major parties and their refusal to employ critical thinking to allow for respectable discourse, a woman can't do any worse.
The country is a sewer of racism, fear, retribution, and danger, and both republicans and democrats shoulder the blame.
Since our best female politician has made far too many enemies on BOTH sides of the aisle, I'm talking about Liz Cheney, she'd never leave the paddock.
So democrats, surround your new president with the best and the brightest, and give her the world because she will need it.
And oh yeah.
Raise your hand if you think that Donald Trump will go quietly into the night if he were to actually lose the election (again)?
Right.
So maybe, just maybe, the race is back on.
Female voters.
Black voters.
Caribbean-American voters.
Democrat voters.
And if you women voters think that women's rights are under attack, just wait until you see how Trump's running mate JD Vance feels about abortion and women's (lack of) rights in that regard. His views make Trump look like a Democrat.
So, I saw the total evisceration of United States Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, and as difficult as it was to watch, I thought the outcome was justified. It is no secret how I feel about DJT, but that was wrong.
Even I know that if there is a structure within a few hundred feet of the president, you cover the rooftop with agents. And if ever someone looked like they could use about three fingers of Wild Turkey and a bowl of Indica, it was the beleaguered Director who looked like she was rode hard and put away wet at the conclusion of the hearing.
So enough of politics as I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the college football season and the impending Premier League season as well.
The new conferences are going to provide great games every week of the season, as new rivalries are made and with the advent of the 12-team College Football Playoff, I am ready….
Put me in coach.
Go Irish!
Stay well.
